The New Mexico Burn would like to thank everyone for their support. Our organization ran into some issues this season with injuries and lack of commitment from some players. We realized that as an organization, we could not continue playing this sport without putting players at greater risk then normal with approximately 17 healthy players. On September 18th, we withdrew from the WPFL 2007 season.

We want to be clear that the New Mexico Burn has not changed ownership or name. There has been a movement from some players to start their own team and we wish them well. This team has no affiliation with the New Mexico Burn. There has been lots of speculation and accusations, but in reality the team met its demises due to multiple years of no positive income, dwindling player pool and fan support. Our loyal fans were there till the end, and we thank them.

When I started this team, I had only a dream to give women in New Mexico an opportunity to play this once male dominated sport of football. I have nothing left to give to the dream. I worked hard to build an organization that was seen positively in our community and by my peers. My organization took an active role in the league, and tried to better the sport of women's football. My family sacrificed their time and energy along with money to make this happen.

To the players that sacrificed time, and body parts to my organization, THANK YOU! Without players there is no team, I hope that you can look back some day and remember your time with The Burn fondly.

Thank You
